Private Pilot Course
Our private Pilot Training Program is your first step towards enjoying all of the excitement and privileges of helicopter flying. This program is intended for people who want to learn to fly helicopters for pleasure, personal business, or for people planning to purchase their own helicopter. The Private Pilot License is the first major milestone for seeking more advanced certifications or for starting a career as a Professional Helicopter Pilot.

What Can I do with a Private Pilots License?
With your Private Pilot License you are allowed to take family, friends co-workers, and cargo on board a helicopter that you own or rent while acting as Pilot in Command. Even though you may share the operating expenses with your passengers, you are not allowed to be compensated for your Piloting Skills.
To fly for compensation or hire, you must carry a Commercial Pilots License...

FAA Requirements for Private Pilot:
Obtain a 3rd Class Medical/Student Pilot Certificate
40 hrs of flight time including a minimum of 20 hrs with an instructor
17 years old at the time you complete your training
Pass the FAA written Private Pilot Exam

These costs are based on the 40 hour FAA minimum requirements to become a Rotorcraft Private Pilot. Most students are ready to take their checkride around 50 hours total time.

Commercial Pilot Course:
The Commercial Pilot Training Program teaches you several advanced flight maneuvers while teaching you to perform all of the basic Private Pilot maneuvers with higher precision, skill and confidence. As a Commercial Pilot, you may fly for compensation or hire.

FAA Requirements:
Hold an FAA Medical Certificate
150 hrs of flight time
Note: Flight hours obtained for a Private Pilot Certificate are credited towards the Commercial Certificate.
Must be 18 yrs old
Pass the FAA Written Commercial Pilot Exam

These costs are based on the 150 hour FAA minimum requirements to become a Rotorcraft Commercial Pilot. Most students are ready to take their checkride around 160 - 170 hours total time.

Helicopter Turbine Transition:
Expand your skill set with a thorough Turbine Transition. This is the first step for any pilot wishing to gain valuable turbine experience when seeking a job or buying a turbine powered aircraft for personal use.

The Ground portion of the program covers the major differences between Piston Powered and Turbine Powered aircraft. Engine operation and design, systems, drive trains, Bell 206 B3 specific items, and limitations and performance are emphasized.

The Flight portion familiarizes you with Jet helicopter flight as you gain valuable flight experience in the Bell 206 B3 Jet Ranger.

Add-On's:
If you already hold a Private, Commercial, CFI or ATP for fixed-wing aircraft, you may add a helicopter rating to your fixed-wing pilot certificate. Generally, it will take a non-pilot or a fixed-wing pilot about the same time to learn to fly helicopters. However, because fixed-wing pilots have a lot of general aviation knowledge and experience in air traffic communication, navigation ect., the FAA minimum requirements for Add-On ratings are slightly lower than for initial piloting credentials.
